Environmental Stewardship

RESPONSIBILITY TO THE ENVIRONMENT

As an environmentally aware business, Dimensional Innovations strives to make conscience decisions concerning the environment, at client request,  by utilizing recyclable materials in the fabrication process. In many cases, recyclable materials such as aluminum can be substituted for PVC based materials like Sintra™.

Dimensional Innovations has the capabilities to fabricate with an array of sustainable materials and is always seeking new construction methods and materials to minimize our company's impact on the environment.

  • We utilize digital fabrication to eliminate waste and increase yield of materials.
  • We maintain strict standards for proper disposal of batteries, paint solids and other hazardous materials.
  • A high percentage of our post-production product is recycled and donated to local art school programs including, the Kansas City Art Institute and the University of Kansas.
  • We utilize a solvent recycling machine that reduces our solvent waste by 95 percent. This system reduces 220 gallons of solvent waste per year.
  • Dimensional Innovations interior architectural designer is a LEED AP and has completed several recent exhibits in facilities seeking LEED certification.
  • We are currently exploring supplemental options for recycling Sintra and EPS foam.

FORT OSAGE EDUCATIONAL CENTER

The exhibits for the Fort Osage Education Center were designed with sustainable materials and strategies in mind, as the facility is currently seeking LEED certification. Exhibits were constructed primarily of Medex, a formaldehyde free fiberboard, minimal plastic materials and finished with low VOC paints. All exhibits were illuminated by low watt fluorescents and LEDs to keep energy consumption to a minimum.
