Colorado College: Ed Robson Arena
Colorado College breathes
brand refresh into new on-campus arena
For more than 80 years, Colorado College has built a Men’s Ice Hockey program rich in tradition. The only thing missing was a rink of their own to celebrate their championed past and grow their ambitious future, all while showcasing the university’s new brand look and feel. That’s where we came in.
Dimensional Innovations was brought on to the team by JLG Architects among other partners including DRL Group, Sign Shop + Sign Shop LTD and Nunn Construction to help design, brand and build the program’s first-ever multi-purpose facility on campus, known as the long-awaited Ed Robson Arena.
Touching almost every square inch of the building, DI worked to create an immersive experience to capture the program’s sharp, established and even mountainous essence.
From the sleek gold and black branding paired with detailed graphics and visual elements, all the way up to a massive illuminated ceiling feature hovering above their awe-inspiring locker room, the arena does far more than give Tiger Hockey a home-ice advantage.
Design elements throughout the arena foster an emotional connection for athletes, alumni, recruits, faculty, fans and casual visitors, with “wow” moments around every corner. The arena also provides a memorable yet seamless fan experience thanks to stand-out signage and intuative wayfinding — all the way from the parking lot to your seat.

Donor recognition
When it comes to the development and design of new athletic facilities, DI understands donors play a major financial role. In addition to addressing branding in the team and public areas of the building, DI developed a comprehensive Donor Recognition strategy and developed both small and large scale recognition elements within the arena.
Part of this strategy included working with the college to present a variety of designs to prospective donors during the initial stages of the project in hopes of bolstering donations and sparking excitement around fundraising.
This collaboration empowered the university to elevate their efforts post-build, creating an arena that not only showcases the lifeblood of Colorado College, but pays tribute to the key donors who made it all possible.
And that’s how you summon a new era of collegiate hockey. Go Tigers.
