Now a Principal and adviser to DI, Allison formerly served as DI’s Chief Financial Officer, where her responsibilities included financial reporting and management, project accounting, payroll, budgeting, forecasting, managing banking and audit relationships, income and tax compliance and other complicated numbers.

During her career she accomplished: putting a formal job cost system in place which measures each capability’s profits, established budgets, managed yearly growth while remaining debt free, developed KPI’s, and flourished by starting new entities and divisions. Allison’s support enabled all departments of the company to excel with better bottom-line results.

Allison’s other official roles at DI have included managing DI’s HR and IT teams. She oversaw compliance, compensation, benefits, hiring, training and retention of employees with a strong focus on work-life balance, leadership development, and entrepreneurship. She also oversaw DI’s growing in-house IT team.

Allison was recognized in 2017 as one of the CFO’s of the Year by the Kansas City Business Journal. She holds degrees in both finance and economics from the University of Kansas. And in her spare time, Allison works on her riding skills with her horses and spends time with her son and two daughters.

As the Director of Manufacturing Operations at DI, she plays an essential role in our manufacturing process. Her leadership efforts are primarily focused on safety, schedule, and capacity planning. She handles everything from quality control to forecasting production and project costs. For years she has prioritized, organized, expediated, and helped deliver our remarkable experiences to clients across the country and around the world. Her knowledge and skills support world class interactions between the engineering, project management, manufacturing and install teams. She is intensely focused on the success of DI and is a key player in keeping the Production team successful on a consistent basis. 

 

Ashley graduated from Pittsburg State University in 2011 with a major in Wood Technology (emphasis is wood product manufacturing)  She interned at DI during the summer of 2010 as a fabricator. During this internship she gained a lot of hands-on experience, which has been a huge asset to her current role.

 

When she isn’t at work, Ashley enjoys spending time with her 1 year old son, traveling with her husband and playing recreational league sports.

Bess graduated from the University of Kansas with bachelors and masters degrees in special education as well as an interior design degree from Johnson County Community college.

In the few hours you don’t find her at her desk or on the phone, Bess likes to watch just about any sport, travel (she’s backpacked all over Europe) and spend time with her dog.

Not everyone you meet can say they have been hand-building homes from the ground up since age 13. However, Blair Dibben’s construction and fabrication experience began exactly then.

Working the family business, he learned how to plan, build and test all aspects of fabrication and construction, as he and his grandfather literally made and installed every single, tiny, critical detail of the houses they produced.

Before joining DI, Blair was a member of the carpenter and lineman unions for 19 years combined, adding more skills to his expertise. At DI, his thorough approach and eye for quality have him leading projects such as hundred-year-old clocktower restorations and high-end interior details in pro sports stadiums.

He lives with his wife and son in a home that he recently remodeled – by hand – himself. Outside of work and home remodeling, you can find Blair cruising on his Harley, camping or just appreciating life outdoors.

During that time he also volunteered as an Operations Chief for a Montana-based fire department.

Outside of work, Daren enjoys designing and building custom furniture and lighting, tinkering with new technology, traveling with his wife, exploring on his motorcycle, ice climbing, skiing and finding other excuses to get back into the mountains.

Managing all of the jobs for some of DI’s largest theater clients, Davey excels at juggling staff and timelines to meet deadlines and budgets. Directing anywhere from one to 10 staff members on any given job, Davey routinely pitches in on projects himself and even installs work on occasion.

He has a long commute to arrive at the office everyday, but for him, it’s worth it to live near open space in his 1880's-era Victorian home that he’s slowly restoring. He also enjoys weekends at the lake, fishing and four-wheeling with his wife and grown son.

Prior to joining DI, she worked for Tudor Woodworks designing and engineering new furniture, while also repairing antique furniture. She also worked as a graphic designer for a print shop.

Grundy Thomson came to Dimensional Innovations with a range of experience, yet was still eager to learn and dedicated to the growth and success of the company. His enthusiasm and abilities have seen Grundy advance to the technology division in his eleven years with DI.

After studying sculpture at the University of Kansas, Grundy graduated from Johnson County Community College with a degree in metal fabrication technologies. He previously worked in various fabrication and installation roles, from masonry to metal recycling, before working for Dish Network, where he gained his technology and A/V experience.

His logical approach and people skills allow him to effectively communicated complex issues to clients and train them on the use of their technology installations. Outside of work, you’ll find Grundy in the dojo – he’s a fifth-degree black belt in jujitsu, third-degree black belt in both kobujitsu and laido, and first-degree black belt in karate. Perhaps the most impressive fact is that he’s been a certified instructor in jujitsu since he was 15 years old.

Prior to his business career, Jim enjoyed a successful skydiving career as a member of the United States Free Fall Exhibition Team, the United States Parachute Team, and three World Teams. He’s completed more than 3,500 jumps, 600 of which were completed as a free-fall cameraman. He had the distinct honor of being part of the crew that assisted President George W. Bush on his first two skydives.

While his skydiving career may be behind him, Jim’s quest for adventure is still going strong. An avid mountain climber, Jim created www.Climb4SMA.com to help raise money for one of his employees whose son was born with Spinal Muscular Atrophy, a deadly disease.

As the Sports and Higher Education Practice Director, Justin feeds his passion for developing matchless, engaging experiences for our clients by focusing on dynamic environments. He has led the charge of building these practice portfolios through developing sponsorship activations, halls of fame and immersive branding experiences.

His leadership in projects help clients and brands improve the pro and collegiate experience by connecting their story to interactive and physical environments. Justin’s resume also boasts seven years of running his own design-build consulting company.

Justin’s portfolio of projects has appeared in multiple sports market publications, and he has presented at ALSD, SEGD’s Dynamic Environments series and at multiple Sports Business Journal workshops. Justin was named as an SBJ Power Player in 2020.

Leveraging 20 years of shop experience, Lindsey Weber brings the hands-on knowledge in operations and production to the Innovation Lab at Dimensional Innovations.

Lindsey has a gifted eye for design combined with the knowledge to build which makes him incredibly valuable for project collaboration. His talents include, but are not limited to, lighting, industrial design, product modeling, 3D printing, high-speed mockups and rapid prototyping.

His ability to utilize logic, problem-solving and creativity to find solutions to DI’s biggest challenges makes Lindsey a valuable asset to the team. In his time with DI he’s done everything from craft giant metal structures to help develop new products.

Recently married, Lindsey enjoys spending time with his wife, daughter, two sons. The family also has two dogs, both purebred Boxers, the newest of which is a puppy still working on housetraining.

As a Creative Director, Lyndee brings over 10 years experience to the DI design team. With a background in print design, she understands the importance of composition and hierarchy to tell a visually impactful story. Lyndee is detail oriented and has the ability to work under tight timelines making her an asset for clients. She has worked on several large-scale environmental design projects, including the Dairy Framers of America headquarters.

Prior to joining DI, Lyndee worked in art director positions for BRR Architecture and Staples. She has a bachelor’s degree in graphic design from the University of Missouri- Kansas City. When she is not designing, you can find Lyndee kickboxing, traveling, or working on photography.

As the Community Engagement Director at Dimensional Innovations (DI) — an experience design, build, and tech firm —she works with the company's executive team and DI Foundation Committee to create and implement a community engagement strategy to establish and enforce the vision of their employee-funded and managed foundation.

A calculated risk-taker and cultural leader with deep nonprofit industry knowledge, Mary has championed nonprofits to increase funds and create greater awareness of their organization and mission. As a community leader, she has been recognized as a proven relationship builder and helped establish and develop foundations across the nation.

Most recently, Mary served as Co-Director of The Parade of Hearts — a public art installation that raised over 2.6 million dollars to help unite the Kansas City region and bolster those affected by COVID-19. Mary has served on a variety of boards and provided marketing expertise to local and national nonprofits, including The Parkinson Foundation, JDRF and MS Society. She currently serves on two boards — YEP KC and the Parade of Hearts.

Outside of Dimensional Innovations, Mary enjoys time with her family and friends, loves to travel, and always enjoys a good laugh.

Mike manages the flow of the jobs he oversees, from preplanning to scheduling labor. His experience ranges from screen-printing to CNC programming and fabrication to engineering, allowing him to fully comprehend and manage every aspect of the jobs on his plate.

Mike learned on the job and also studied computer design at Penn Valley Community College. Outside of work, he’s usually playing and writing music. He can also be found relaxing with his wife, two daughters, dog, two cats and two guinea pigs.

Nigel has extensive experience as a Creative Director, guiding collaborative teams of smart, talented creatives in developing effective solutions for a wide range of brands. In previous roles, Rachel identified key insights to develop and execute brand positioning for clients, implemented and executed sales-driving promotions, and built campaigns to successfully roll out numerous and new product launches. With a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Design from the University of Kansas, Randall's journey in the creative industry spans nearly two decades, including 17 years in Seattle, Washington. During his time in the Pacific Northwest, Randall worked with a diverse range of clients, from tech giants to nimble startups and mission-driven non-profits, honing his expertise in interactive design and creative leadership. His vision was instrumental in delivering cutting-edge solutions that resonated with both clients and audiences alike.

Returning to Kansas City, Randall's creative direction continues to shape innovative, immersive experiences that connect people with brands in meaningful ways. His DI portfolio of work includes an impressive array of projects, such as the YouTube Theater and Google Cloud experiences at SoFi Stadium, the Intuit Dome Experience Center for the LA Clippers, and the New England Patriots Player Tunnel Experience. He has also contributed to the State Farm Insurance Good Neighbor Center, Children's Museum of Indianapolis, and numerous high-profile collaborations with companies like Microsoft, Amazon, T-Mobile, Adobe, and Discovery Channel.

Rick inspires excellence in DI’s creative team, crafting fully integrated designs and rich experiences with end users in mind. He manages creative direction and team efforts, streamlining design processes for all of DI’s projects.
Rick’s strength lies in his ability to connect brands and their customers to the physical environment. His collaborative and comprehensive approach details the project vision through words, ideas and images.

Not only a leader at DI, Rick is heavily involved in the Kansas City design community. A member of the Society for Environmental Graphic Design (SEGD) and AIGA, Rick chairs the local SEGD chapter, is on the AIGAKC Board of Directors and on the Kansas City Design Week Planning committee.

Married for over 10 years, Rick and his wife have two children. An outdoors-kind-of-guy, Rick enjoys climbing, camping, mountaineering, and just generally being outside. He also plays guitar and coaches his daughter’s softball team in his not-so-abundant spare time.

Rod’s educational background is in graphic and industrial design with a specialization in special effects makeup. Instead of moving to Hollywood like some of his college classmates, he returned to the KC area, married his high school sweetheart and now has two wonderful boys.

Rod’s 20 years of experience as a graphic designer started off in screen printing for clients such as Annheuser Busch and Universal Studios. From there, he moved into advertising specialties and has roughly 10 years of experience as a professional makeup artist.

In the Imaging Department at DI, Rod does the production artwork – ensuring print quality control (color correction, preflight, etc.). He’s also been able to use his impressive airbrush skills, just ask about the praying mantis he did for the Museum at Prairiefire.

In addition to her design and management executions, Sara is also a skillful and seasoned program manager, successfully directing a diverse range of people, projects and accounts. She was the Executive Project Manager for DI’s impactful role in bringing the Mercedes-Benz Stadium fan experience to life by successfully managing 19 sponsorship activations prior to the completion of the stadium construction.

With a degree in interior design from Pittsburg State University, she’s an expert at translating ideas into the physical realm through creative problem solving.

Sara’s free time is spent shopping, baking, and being outdoors with her family. You will likely find her at the lake with her husband and two young daughters.

Spencer has been an integral leader of the Entertainment, Hospitality and Retail practice at Dimensional Innovations since 2018. Having a passion for building and maintaining relationships, he has the luxury of working with high-profile brands that have been 30+ year partners to DI and also developing new and exciting partnerships within these verticals. 

Spencer’s strength lies in connecting with clients and their projects, helping blend the digital and physical environments. His creative cohesion and collaborative approach detail the project vision through research, ideation and execution strategies.

Spencer enjoys connecting with strategic partners and creatives around the globe, brainstorming the latest in experiential and immersive experiences. He is an active member and regular attendee of various conferences, including the Themed Entertainment Association (TEA), International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions (IAAPA), Entertainment Experience Evolution (EEE), and CinemaCon. 

Outside of the office, Spencer spends time with his beautiful wife, Kaitlin and son, Charlie. You can also find him cheering for the Kansas City Chiefs and Royals and his beloved Arkansas Razorbacks. Spencer received a Bachelor’s in Business Management and a Master’s in Sports Management, both from the University of Arkansas.

With over 22 years of supervisory and production experience, Steve Schmidtlein brings knowledge and capacity to his role as Dimensional Innovations’ material controls manager. Overseeing all purchasing, vendor contracts and requests for quotes on materials and labor, his work touches every project that rolls through the shop floor.

Steve works closely with project engineers, designers, engineering staff and estimating to help bring projects to life, from researching materials to seeking out pricing for specific items. He also serves as the Underwriters Laboratory representative for DI, ensuring the warehouse follows their guidelines for quality control and safety.

Outside of the office, Steve and his wife of over 17 years spend time with their four kids, dog and cat. He also builds model railroad layouts and collects various model trains and accessories to set up his tracks and switches.

Tim is an adept motion designer, editor, and all-around creative generalist, with formal training in illustration and computer animation. That training, combined with years of hands-on production experience for national brands, means that there isn’t a creative concept or production challenge Tim isn’t ready to tackle. Tim leads a talented team of strategists, writers, motion designers, and post-production artists, helping some of the best brands in the world tell their stories and engage with consumers.

Depth of category knowledge and an ability to distill complex information into key insights have been critical components in Tim’s continued success with brands like Microsoft, Anthem, and Cerner. A more than 15-year-veteran of Dimensional Innovations, Trent started his employment as a design intern in 1997. After graduating from the University of Kansas with a degree in industrial design, Trent returned to DI as an R&D designer in 1998. Trent’s also worked in the CNC router department, served as a shop supervisor and even an installation manager.

In 2007, he transitioned into project management where he specializes in conducting the work for movie theatre accounts, as well as casinos, family entertainment centers and retail.

When not at work, Trent can be found remodeling houses or spending time with his wife, toddler and the two family dogs. His biggest goal in life is to design the one product no one can live without.

As Chief Executive Officer, Tucker Trotter leads Dimensional Innovations’ gifted and capable team of designers, innovators and fabricators. Committed to creativity and excellence, Tucker has been one of the driving forces behind the company’s expanded capabilities over the past 30 years, transforming DI into a globally recognized, respected and unrivaled industry powerhouse.

Tucker’s role involves him in a wide range of disciplines within the company, from conceptual design and strategic vision to project delivery and success. Under his direction, DI's core focus areas in the corporate, healthcare, museum, sports and entertainment, transit and higher education industries emphasize the importance of the customer experience. An expert at quickly turning clients’ needs and goals into highly conceptualized ideas, he understands the power of full collaboration at every level.

After leading or working on more than 500 movie theater projects worldwide, other notable work under his leadership includes the giant library books gracing the Kansas City Library's downtown parking garage, the Las Vegas Raiders - Al Davis Memorial Torch inside Allegiant Stadium, the Amelia Earhart Hangar Museum, the Jayhawk Welcome Center and the Kansas City International Airport Terminal. 

Tucker is dedicated to enhancing the Kansas City community by establishing the Dimensional Innovations Foundation, funded and managed by DI employees. He is also a founding partner of the Parade of Hearts, a public art initiative that celebrates diversity, fosters community unity, and supports nonprofits by showcasing beautifully sculpted hearts designed by local KC artists. He also holds several leadership roles, including serving on the board of directors for the Kansas City Sports Commission, Vice-Chair of the Dean’s Advisory Board for the School of Architecture and Design, and founding donor to the Center for Design Research at the University of Kansas. He is also involved with the Heart of America Council Board of Directors and serves as a trustee for the Fredrick J. McCoy Cleft and Craniofacial Clinic at Children’s Mercy Hospital, among other commitments.

Additionally, Tucker co-authored Go Big or Go Home, a collection of stories featuring the most memorable sales pitches in film, sports, business and philanthropy. The book was written for various audiences, outlining "five impactful ways to create a customer experience that will close the deal."

As Chief People Officer, Vernon is responsible for nurturing a culture that attracts, develops and retains talent which helps DI reach its bold mission:  to liberate people from mediocre experiences.  The people portion of DI’s mission statement underscores a long-held philosophy from Vernon:  humans drive organizations, not resources and it’s what ultimately attracted him to DI.

In addition to leading all people services functions for DI, Vernon is laser-focused on ensuring the team’s people strategies are in alignment with and add fuel to the company’s key business imperatives.   Talent Management, Internal Communications, Benefits and Compliance, Foundations, and being the Executive sponsor for DI’s Diversity + Inclusion efforts are those strategic sources of fuel that have the power to enliven culture and invigorate brand connection internally and externally.
