Bus Shelters

Dimensional Innovations teamed with the Kansas City Area Transportation Authority and HNTB Architects to successfully implement a new Bus Rapid Transit system in Kansas City. DI played an integral role in detailing the construction documents to meet the unique goals of the job.

Dimensional Innovations produced 20 bus shelters using StarfireTM tempered glass and stainless steel on the Main Street shelters and painted steel and plexiglass on the Troost shelters. The real-time kiosks are connected to the speed of the bus, and alert riders to exact times of arrival. The kiosks are stainless steel and are loaded with LED lights and electronics for easy viewing and user safety.

The MAX bus shelters are now located all around the greater Kansas City area and have become a focal point of local public transportation.

…the Hy-Vee Hot Zone is a memorable experience because of some of the elements that were implemented for the first time; such as the use of the fire in the stage and signage, the Airstream, and the heavy use of technology in the space.
