Minnesota Twins Celebration Signage

Challenge: The Minnesota Twins aimed to modernize the iconic Minnie & Paul Celebration Sign—an enduring symbol of team pride—while introducing a new visual landmark that aligned with the stadium’s evolving brand. They needed a solution that honored decades of tradition, embraced advanced technology, and delivered high‑impact moments felt throughout the ballpark. DI was tasked with reimagining the celebration sign and designing a complementary Baseball Medallion that would elevate Target Field’s atmosphere from the concourse to the skyline.

Solution: As part of the Minnesota Twins’ high-profile “Scoreboard 2.0” renovation at Target Field, DI served as the prime design-build partner for the updated celebration features and was officially credited in the Twins’ and MLB’s project announcements.

DI refreshed the Minnie & Paul Celebration Sign with updated Twins branding and replaced its shifting-light effect with mechanical movement, allowing the familiar handshake to physically come to life. The installation incorporates 1,203 feet of customizable RGBW LEDs and 155 embedded LEDs, giving the Twins greater control over lighting effects for home runs, celebrations and other key moments.

DI also engineered a 12-foot-diameter rotating Baseball Medallion atop the right-field tower. Featuring an illuminated “TC” logo, programmable LED nodes and animated stitching, the medallion creates another highly visible brand moment inside the ballpark and across the skyline.

Both installations are fully programmable and can work together to build energy around major moments throughout the game. By integrating design, engineering, fabrication and technology development, DI helped the Twins update two signature features while giving the team flexible tools to keep the experience fresh over time.
