In recent years, 3D printing has gained popularity among designers for its capabilities to print creations of all sorts. This newer technology has allowed for more flexibility when building pieces and shapes than other conventional means of creation have.
With Dimensional Innovations' 3D printing capabilities, we can turn your design into a large, complex project made specifically for your brand. Our designers are experienced in creating 3D printed structures and have worked to serve clients in many different industries.
3D Printing with Dimensional Innovations
At Dimensional Innovations, we help our clients create remarkable experiences. With Large Scale Additive Manufacturing (LSAM) technology, we can create custom designs for your brand with high-quality materials and minimal waste.
Our capabilities with LSAM allow us to 3D print and route perfect pieces. We can even create complex geometric shapes that wouldn’t otherwise be attainable without the 3D printing process. Generally speaking, we use Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene (ABS) or Polycarbonate (PC), along with a fiber infill made of carbon or glass fiber, to achieve the results we want. However, LSAM is capable of printing with nearly any type of thermoplastic that is injection moldable.
After the 3D print is complete, our team at DI adds finishes to the product, such as paint or a powder coating. We can paint the print just as we would with any other substrate. Our powder coating is more robust than standard paint, and it can be wrapped in vinyl or coated in chrome.
The possibilities of what we can 3D print at DI are truly endless, but we focus on large-scale projects to efficiently use the LSAM machine. Single print and machine size limitations are at a maximum of 10 ft x 20 ft x 5 ft.
So what does the 3D printing process look like? After designing, printing, and finishing any pieces, we interlock and fasten the parts securely together in their proper orientation. Once fully assembled, these pieces act as a single large piece. Assembling can vary depending on the project, and our fabricators employ whatever method is suitable for the job.
Our expert designers work with many different design programs, including Solidworks, Z-Brush, Rhino, Grasshopper, and others, to bring your brand’s project to life. Any program that can export a 3D object made of more than just surface information is used to get the job done.
Our work on the Al Davis Memorial Torch for the Las Vegas Raiders is one of the most well-known 3D printed structures in the country. Standing over nine stories tall, the torch is also the tallest 3D printed structure in the world. The torch was 3D printed using our LSAM machine and carbon fiber and reinforced polycarbonate composite. With aluminium surrounding the outside of the torch, this unique piece is one-of-a-kind.
DI is the only company in the designing and building industry that can provide LSAM technology to our clients. Our experienced team is here for you for your next 3D printing project. Check out our portfolio and contact us today for more information.
