As a Design Engineering Coordinator at DI, Daren focuses on unifying and aligning the needs of the Engineering and Fabrication teams with the creative processes of the Design Studio. With his varied creative and technical background, Daren is a perfect match for taking on the unique challenges that typify a DI project, which is blending design, engineering, and technology to create compelling experiences. While at DI, he has contributed to several successful interactive elements, feature walls, and custom lighting projects.

Daren obtained his BS in Industrial Design from Arizona State University, where he was selected to participate in the transdisciplinary InnovationSpace program. Before coming to DI, he co-founded a software design company, spent time as a custom fabricator, and designed and engineered consumer sporting and safety products. During that time he also volunteered as an Operations Chief for a Montana-based fire department.

Outside of work, Daren enjoys designing and building custom furniture and lighting, tinkering with new technology, traveling with his wife, exploring on his motorcycle, ice climbing, skiing and finding other excuses to get back into the mountains.
