highlight success, celebrate tradition
+ honor Husker pride
As a significant expansion of the University of Nebraska-Lincoln’s (UNL) College of Engineering, Kiewit Hall serves as a lively and community-driven academic hub for undergraduate students. The seven-story facility will include a variety of classrooms, labs, workshops, and more, providing engineering students with a place to collaborate, conduct research, and connect on campus.
Challenge: The University of Nebraska set out to create a flagship engineering facility showcasing the College of Engineering's ambition, innovation, and momentum. The college aimed to develop a cohesive visual identity for the seven-story Kiewit Hall that honors donors, celebrates legacy, and welcomes students, faculty, and industry partners to a future-focused environment. Dimensional Innovations designed a donor recognition system and branded elements that integrate seamlessly, scale effectively, and express Nebraska Engineering’s mission.

Solution: Dimensional Innovations partnered with the University of Nebraska to design and fabricate a comprehensive donor recognition program and environmental branding system for Kiewit Hall. DI implemented a tiered recognition strategy—from modular plaques to custom, digitally integrated installations—ensuring clear and impactful acknowledgment of every contribution. In addition to donor recognition, DI worked closely with university stakeholders to identify key branding opportunities, incorporate campus traditions, and create interactive touchpoints for students and visitors. Comprehensive project management, spanning initial concept to final installation, enabled seamless execution and consistency throughout the seven-story facility. The solution emphasized integration, scalability, and alignment with Nebraska Engineering’s mission at every step.
Across the building, DI introduced immersive graphics, distinctive type, and branded storytelling that reinforce Husker pride and showcase the college’s academic and research excellence. These choices increase student engagement, improve navigation, and encourage interaction with the college’s achievements and values. By unifying design, fabrication, and installation, DI delivered a cohesive visual language that elevates the student experience and strengthens Nebraska Engineering's identity.
Impact: Kiewit Hall now serves as a dynamic, brand-forward engineering hub that honors donors and celebrates student and faculty achievements. The integrated recognition system builds lasting connections between the college and its supporters, while environmental graphics and storytelling foster collaboration, spirit, pride, and a sense of belonging throughout the building.
By blending environmental design, donor recognition, and immersive graphics, Dimensional Innovations helped the University of Nebraska create a facility that inspires future engineers and reflects ongoing innovation.
