Accenture Federal Services: The Forge®


Challenge: Accenture Federal Services, Accenture’s business serving U.S. federal government clients, wanted to reintroduce its tech-forward experience center. The updated center would blend its global commercial innovation focus with federal mission expertise in new ways. They envisioned an interactive environment, purpose-built to help federal clients understand the power of emerging technologies, while meeting rigorous compliance and security requirements. The challenge was building and developing relevant content at speed and scale without compromising innovation or execution quality – all while reacting to a rapidly changing federal landscape.

Solution: Dimensional Innovations was invited into the effort and began developing a full experiential plan for The Forge®, from technology-enabled storytelling and strategic content to hospitality and operations. DI serves as Accenture Federal's experiential agency of record across strategy, design, content, fabrication and installation on an enterprise-level experiential platform. By keeping the experiential strategy aligned across partners and platforms, DI was able to collaborate with Accenture Federal to create experiential outcomes that were cohesive and clearly differentiated. This streamlined approach to the experiential design process accelerated production, enhanced creative alingment and reduced risk.

DI helped refresh The Forge® as a living, evolving showcase of the best of Accenture and Accenture Federal. The space brings together the world’s most advanced technology, leading commercial innovation and mission experience to help agencies and partners deliver stronger outcomes faster. A custom DI-built content management system (CMS) is the backbone of the experience, providing the platform to orchestrate personalized journeys across a range of activations and tech-enabled presentation spaces. The design of the CMS gives presenters tablet-controlled access to all elements of content and lighting on a per-journey basis. The result is a cohesive, immersive, relationship-focused environment. The Forge® is a powerful, flexible, business growth accelerator, where every element of the experience can be personalized based on the needs of the client.

AFS RECEPTION

The Reception

The visit begins at the Reception, where customizable lighting and tailored welcome messaging set the tone for a high-tech, high-touch day of guided experiences.

The Forge Experience

The Hub

The Hub is an expansive digital canvas that introduces clients to entirely new ways of working. The ultra-wide aspect ratio provides a new perspective that replaces static slides and formulaic content. Inside the Hub, a seamless floor-to-ceiling DVLED wall surrounds clients with compelling content for pitches, collaborative workshopping, backdrops and immersive demos. It’s a one-of-a-kind space for personalized storytelling that immediately shows clients that Accenture is capable of bringing new perspectives to solving their challenges.

The Sandbox

The Sandbox supports live software and systems demonstrations with a catalog of 50+ commercial and federal demos. The comfortable environment includes adjacent breakout rooms for parallel sessions.

The Control Room

The Control Room

The Control Room is a hands-on immersive space equipped with 270-degrees of DVLED driven by a custom, interactive object-recognition touch table. The featured experience is a scenario-based, choose-your-own-adventure application inspired by connected technology solutions that Accenture Federal prototyped with the U.S. Navy. During the experience, clients put themselves in the command center of a naval ship, making decisions on how to respond to threats using enhanced insights from sensor data, AI models and autonomous vehicles. This experience inspires and engages clients on the power of connected data and Accenture’s ability to make that data actionable.

The Stage

The Stage

The Stage hosts fireside chats and TED-style talks and ties directly into curated client days. This space also supports broadcasting with virtual connectivity.

The Expo

The Expo

Inside the Expo, clients get hands-on with emerging tech. The AI Tower combines education and entertainment, sharing concepts like deepfakes and applied AI, turning them into gamified experiences. The Accessibility Center highlights technologies used across Accenture’s Connected Innovation Centers.

AFS GARAGE

The Garage

The Garage is a mix of rotating interactives and physical tech, covering topics like quantum computing, robotics and IoT. Physical and digital combine in this space to connect real prototyping efforts with mission outcomes.

 

Content + Personalization

DI developed a custom CMS that can be adapted to each visiting client. This approach provides consistency across control of all activations. From object-driven storytelling in the Control Room to personalized immersive presentations in the Hub, clients get to see the possibilities of technologies like Agentic AI and advanced tech. The CMS allows for control of all aspects of the experience, from personalized content, room aesthetics and brand accents, down to custom color and lighting cues. 

Outcome + Momentum

With this latest evolution, The Forge delivered immediate impact as an accelerator for new business, offering a whole new environment for industry events and curated experiences. Within the first 45 days of re-opening, The Forge ran seventeen curated experiences that captured the attention of 300+ clients and generated 60+ leads. Social engagement continues to build with the #AtTheForge hashtag, and a steady stream of compelling content is driving ongoing momentum with visibility across platforms.

Tim is an Executive Creative Director at DI, with a focus on creative strategy and content development. Tim is an adept motion designer, editor, and all-around creative generalist, with formal training in illustration and computer animation. That training, combined with years of hands-on production experience for national brands, means that there isn’t a creative concept or production challenge Tim isn’t ready to tackle. Tim leads a talented team of strategists, writers, motion designers, and post-production artists, helping some of the best brands in the world tell their stories and engage with consumers.

Depth of category knowledge and an ability to distill complex information into key insights have been critical components in Tim’s continued success with brands like Microsoft, Anthem, and Cerner. He has been involved at every stage of production, from concept through completion, with a wide variety of clients, including XBOX, Microsoft Surface, Sprint, LG, H&R Block, Molson Coors, VH1, Sonic, UMB, Helzberg Diamonds, and Discover Card.
