MLB SnapBat
“
MLB Advanced Media contacted DI one month in advance of Snapchat Day to develop a miniature version of our full-sized SnapBat, designed for the 2015 All-Star Game.
We built thirty of these mini-SnapBats for each team to have during MLB's first Snapchat Day.
Justin Wood, Professional Sports Practice Director, Dimensional Innovations
In cooperation with Major League Baseball, Dimensional Innovations designed and fabricated SnapBats (patent pending) for a majority of the MLB teams to help connect fans to their favorite players during the first official “Snapchat Day” March 11, 2016.
Typically leagues avoid promoting social media use during regular and postseason games. Playing off of the casual nature of Spring Training, MLB decided to create “Snapchat Day” as part of their multi-year deal with Snapchat. Players from each team took to Snapchat to give fans an inside look.
