LA Clippers Experience Center

The Clippers Experience Center provides LA fans a stunning, immersive

preview of the Intuit Dome and what to expect from their hometown team."

Justin Wood, Professional Sports Practice Director, Dimensional Innovations

In 2014, when the NBA’s LA Clippers came under new ownership, they created new excitement around the organization by bringing in a talented player core and establishing a new brand identity to reenergize their fan base.

Fast forward to present day — the Clippers want to further differentiate themselves from the other pro team in town. To do that, team leadership envisioned an immersive fan experience center to generate excitement around Intuit Dome, their new home stadium opening in 2024, while utilizing this space as a season ticket sales tool. Naturally, they turned to Dimensional Innovations to bring this ballin’ venue to life.

Working alongside the Clippers organization, Legends, AECOM, Turner Hunt Joint Venture and Daktronics, our team developed an experience that takes you from the sun-filled streets of LA to your front-row seat at the game — and everything in between. Nearly every element is thoughtfully designed to create a deeper connection between Angelenos, the city and the team.

The entire customizable journey is in the hands of the Clippers organization, quite literally, as lighting, screens and presentations are controlled by a handheld playbook tablet, ensuring personalization for whoever is touring the space. Larger-than-life wall graphics adorn the area, highlighting popular locations around the city and the biggest superstars on the team.

The first interactive user element is an indoor basketball court, featuring the Clippers Dunk Cam. Positioned next to large LED screens, the experience allows the average fan to become an NBA star instantly, memorializing their moves and rim-shaking dunks for all to see (and also shareable to their personal social media channels).

After the dunk exhibition, fans make their way into the Model Room where a scaled model of the Intuit Dome sits beneath a massive LED halo, showcasing Clippers highlights, stats and scores from around the NBA. Along the walls are framed jerseys and engaging, personalizable screens that help tell the story of Los Angeles and the team’s history.

The grand finale of the experience center is a simulation of what it’ll be like to watch the team in the completed stadium. While the Intuit Dome nears its way toward completion, this room closely exemplifies what fans can expect from the new home stadium. Featuring arena rumble seating, loudspeakers and customizable screens, guests are granted a virtual, first-person point of view from any seat, including corporate suites, helping visualize game day with fellow fans.

The Los Angeles Clippers have a bright future ahead of them, both as an organization and by forging their own unique identity within the NBA. While the Clippers Experience Center may not necessarily guarantee a championship, it guarantees that fans can enjoy the ride and support their team every step of the way. And for us, that’s a real slam dunk.
