Turning Vision into Reality for the LA Clippers’ New Era

The Challenge: The LA Clippers were on the cusp of a transformative era with the upcoming Intuit Dome. However, communicating the vision of the state-of-the-art arena to fans, sponsors and partners posed a unique challenge. How do you generate excitement and secure commitments for a venue still under construction? The answer: create an immersive experience that brings the future to the present.

Crafting the Solution: Dimensional Innovations, in partnership with the Clippers, Legends, AECOM, Turner Hunt Joint Venture, and Daktronics, designed an Experience Center that would serve as a tangible preview of the Intuit Dome.

Upon entering, visitors are greeted by larger-than-life wall graphics celebrating iconic LA landmarks and Clippers superstars, setting the tone for the journey ahead. The adventure continues onto an indoor basketball court featuring the Clippers Dunk Cam, where fans can perform their best dunks and instantly share their feats on social media.

The next stop is the Model Room, home to a detailed scale model of the Intuit Dome beneath a massive LED halo. This space showcases game highlights, stats and scores, immersing visitors in the Clippers' world. Interactive screens and framed jerseys along the walls narrate the team's rich history and deep connection to Los Angeles.

The grand finale is a simulation room offering a first-person perspective of game day from various vantage points within the future arena. With arena rumble seating, dynamic loudspeakers and customizable screens, guests can virtually experience the thrill of a live game, whether from courtside seats or luxury suites.

All these elements are controlled via a handheld "playbook" tablet, allowing for personalized tours tailored to each visitor's interests.

By integrating storytelling, technology and fan engagement, the Experience Center not only showcases the Intuit Dome's potential but also solidifies the Clippers' commitment to their community and supporters. It's a visionary approach that ensures fans are not just spectators but active participants in the team's evolving narrative.

With over 20 years of experience communicating and developing meaningful projects with clients, Justin Wood brings an unparalleled range of expertise to Dimensional Innovations.

As the Sports and Higher Education Practice Director, Justin feeds his passion for developing matchless, engaging experiences for our clients by focusing on dynamic environments. He has led the charge of building these practice portfolios through developing sponsorship activations, halls of fame and immersive branding experiences.

His leadership in projects help clients and brands improve the pro and collegiate experience by connecting their story to interactive and physical environments. Justin’s resume also boasts seven years of running his own design-build consulting company.

Justin’s portfolio of projects has appeared in multiple sports market publications, and he has presented at ALSD, SEGD’s Dynamic Environments series and at multiple Sports Business Journal workshops. Justin was named as an SBJ Power Player in 2020.

As a Creative Director, Lyndee brings over 20 years experience to the DI design team. With a background in print design, she understands the importance of composition and hierarchy to tell a visually impactful story. Lyndee is detail oriented and has the ability to work under tight timelines making her an asset for clients. She has worked on several large-scale environmental design projects, including the Dairy Framers of America headquarters.

Prior to joining DI, Lyndee worked in art director positions for BRR Architecture and Staples. She has a bachelor’s degree in graphic design from the University of Missouri- Kansas City. When she is not designing, you can find Lyndee kickboxing, traveling, or working on photography.
