Bringing Michigan's tenured football history to life

As part of a $9M renovation, The University of Michigan transformed the Towsley Family Museum inside Schembechler Hall into a state-of-the art celebration of Wolverine Football. Dimensional Innovations was responsible for crafting all of the museum’s interactive experiences. The content we created brought the story of the University’s football program story to life. In keeping with the modern aesthetic of the renovations, the new hall and museum features four 46-inch interactive displays designed, programmed and built by Dimensional Innovations. We also created custom content celebrating Michigan's 130+ years of storied history, the game day experience in The Big House and and up close look at the marching band and Wolverine legends.

Drew Berst is the Practice Director for Collegiate Sports at Dimensional Innovations and is incredibly proud to lead a team that has achieved over 400% revenue growth while also tripling their market share since 2015. Success had been driven by DI’s unique, design-build approach to project delivery, master brand planning partnerships, and interactive technology experiences in addition to their traditional work in facility graphics and branding.

At DI, Berst is the single point of accountability for all collegiate sports clients and his main focus is to live and breathe college sports, in other words, keep doing what he has been doing his entire life. Professionally, Berst has been working in the sports facility industry for over 12 years and has been involved in over $2 billion worth of athletic facility projects.

Berst was born and raised in Kansas City and earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of Kansas, as well as an MBA from the University of North Carolina – Wilmington. He’s steadfast in his belief that there is no such thing as a family vacation, unless a sporting event is involved.

Most importantly, Berst is a husband to Betsy and a parent to three girls – Edie, Nora and Margot.

Michael is responsible for creating new partnerships in facility enhancement with professional sporting organizations in Major League Baseball and the National Hockey League, in addition to institutions and athletic departments on collegiate campuses across the country.  

Having previously worked for professional sporting organizations and within a collegiate athletic department, Michael understands how branded environments can create a competitive advantage for organizations, athletic departments and institutions. Michael consults with new and existing clients on the value of DI’s turn key design build and technologies capabilities in order to create remarkable experiences for fans, visitors, students and guests.
