Chicago Blackhawks
Fans cam take photos with their favorite players virtually at various United Center locations, including in
the locker room and on the ice.
On the brink of the 2014-2015 hockey season, the Chicago Blackhawks opened a flagship team store on Michigan Avenue. Along with traditional retail offerings, the Blackhawks, Dimensional Innovations and technology partner, GeoMedia, designed, developed and installed an augmented reality photo installation.
Fans can then share their images via social media channels. The augmented reality experience brings retail shopping to a new level by integrating cutting edge technology and making it easy for fans to connect and share with other fans via their own social outlets. This growing trend will continue to be seen across the retail landscape as retail footprints shrink.
As seasons and players come and go, content will be updated to keep the experience fresh and exciting. Thanks to GeoMedia, the Blackhawks design team and Blue Marble for a great collaborative effort.
