Bringing LEGO® and Ferrari Together in a High-Speed, Hands-On Experience
The Challenge: When LEGOLAND® Resorts, LEGO® and Ferrari teamed up, they wanted to create groundbreaking attractions that combined physical play, digital innovation and storytelling. Their goal was to bring the thrill of Ferrari racing to life in a way that would entertain guests of all ages. But turning this high-octane dream into reality required a partner who could engineer both a spectacle and a seamless experience.

Good & Roberts General ContractorsCrafting the Solution: Enter Dimensional Innovations, the creative engine behind the LEGO® Ferrari Build & Race experience. Collaborating with Good & Roberts, DI designed, engineered and built an interactive, three-zone adventure that puts guests in the driver's seat—literally.
Zone One: The Garage
Guests start their journey in The Garage, greeted by Dena, an animated LEGO® Minifigure with a knack for Ferrari history and humor. DI created Dena’s script and interactive video, giving visitors a glimpse into the backstory of Enzo Ferrari and the famous luxury car manufacturer.
Here, visitors can take the driver's seat in the life-size LEGO® Ferrari F40, constructed from 360,000 bricks, complete with interactive features like a honking horn and revving engine.
"This came out just as we envisioned it. We set the bar very high for DI. Their creativity and determination shined."
-- Tom Storer, Project Director, Merlin Entertainments
Strike a Pose
A full-scale F40 Ferrari, hand crafted from 360,000 LEGO® bricks, serves as a one-of-a-kind photo op.
Meet Dena
With an abundance of automotive knowledge and quick-witted jokes, Dena interacts with visitors to make for a fun and informative guide to prep racers for their big debut.
Zone Two: Build & Test
In the Build & Test area, creativity takes the wheel. Guests design their own LEGO® Ferraris, drawing inspiration from suggested models or their imagination. Once built, these custom cars, each evaluating aspects like speed, aerodynamics and durability. It’s here visitors get a sneak peek into the realistic design and build processes of Ferrari manufacturing in Italy.
The jump track is where racers send their LEGO® model down the steep jump track in an effort to make it through the life-size tire toward the checkered finish line. If successful, a slow-motion capture video of the jump is played throughout the space for all to see.
The final challenge is where racers compete against their friends and family to see who has the fastest car. Placing their creations at the top of the steep racing ramp, each racer’s time is calculated to determine who crossed the finish line and in what order.
Zone Three: Let's Race
The final zone merges physical builds with digital racing. Guests scan their LEGO® creations, which are analyzed for aerodynamic specs. After customizing features like tires and engines to adapt to real-time track conditions, racers compete on a virtual version of Ferrari's Pista di Fiorano, Ferrari’s real-life test track in Maranello, Italy. Using touchpad controls, they navigate the course, aiming for the fastest lap and a spot on the leaderboard.
A Global Expansion
