The Challenge: Caribbean Cinemas, a movie theater chain based in Puerto Rico, had big dreams for a guest experience—one that would feel cohesive from location to location, while still making room for local character. With over 20 theaters across the Caribbean and Central America, they needed more than a design upgrade—they needed to create a master plan for scalability, establish consistent brand standards and bring cohesion to a network that had grown organically over time. The challenge? Build a future-ready brand experience that could deliver across borders.
Crafting the Solution: DI crafted a brand-forward design system that could be replicated, scaled and tailored to each unique theater location. Starting with the Plaza Las Americas theater in San Juan in 2005, DI completed comprehensive brand guidelines, design templates and material palettes that balanced consistency with creativity.
From site master planning to the design and installation of custom signage, experiential graphics, specialty lighting fixtures, every detail of the Caribbean Cinemas brings a premium guest experience—across every island and in every language. The result? A network of theaters from the Dominican Republic to Panama that feel unmistakably connected, yet authentically local.
